Audits are the first thing I do for clients to get an understanding of the analytics implementation. This can be a standalone service I offer or part of a package of analytics services. An audit can benefit an organisation by reviewing the current quality of data as well as raising flags for how to improve analytics implementation. The audit can result in more data becoming available, improving the quality of existing data and avoiding the pitfalls of an incorrect analytics implementation. Clients receive a report with all the findings and suggestions from the analytics audit.
The implementation phase includes correct installation of Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager including the set up of button click tracking, setting goals and the correct implementation of tracking code (done through your web developer). Google Tag Manager means that tracking code only needs to be installed once and then I can implement the other code as required. I also create specifications for your web developers for more advanced implementations.
I work with you to understand your analysis needs and scope out an analysis project. I review your existing data and data quality. The role of a data analyst includes understanding the company objectives and to understand what data will be useful for progress and decision making. Dashboards and reporting are meaningless unless meaningful action can be taken from the insights gained. My goal is not to produce reports month after month but rather work with you to empower your own data analysis and to grow your business.
